How Many Bayside Blue R34 GT-R Were Made?

Bayside Blue or TV2 was the campaign color, and the second most popular color for the R34 GT-R.  A total of 2880 cars were painted Bayside Blue, or 24.87% of the cars.  On the early, or Series 1 R34 GTR the engine compartment from the factory is black. On the Series 2 August 2000 up cars, the engine compartment on Bayside Blue cars is body color.  Since different materials are used on the body, Bayside is a pearl paint, and the parts were painted at different times in the factory, its common for the panels to have a slightly different shade, depending on the light.  Plastic, aluminum, carbon fiber, and steel all can seem different.

TV2, the colour code for Bayside Blue, is a very iconic colour for the R34 and is one of the most widely recognisable! Making this in Glasurit paint requires an almost equal amount of rounded aluminium silver and medium fine aluminium silver, giving just the right brightness and coarseness. The base of the actual blue colour requires a lot of a blue that has both a red blue flip and a slight green blue flip! Add in some violet to give it a purplish tone, a dark red for some colour control and lastly, but not least, a fine blue pearl and some M1 effect additive to truly make the colour pop in the sun! Without all those mixed together, it gives you the Bayside Blue that is gorgeous in both the sunlight and in the dark! This colour has a “Red” variation out of the OEM factory compared to the Standard version.
