What Engine Oil Should I Use In My Skyline?
This seems to be a very common question in the Nissan Skyline world. What engine oil is best for my car? We have the OEM Nissan recommendations, which are all based on ambient temperature. As the ambient temperature changes, the recommended oil viscosity changes.
The original recommended weight for an R32 GT-R was a 7.5w-30 which isn't a common oil viscosity in the USA. We would normally run a 10w-30. If you are looking for a brand recommendation, that is all up to you. People protect their brands fairly fiercly. If your car isn't stock, then look to some of the links below for other recommenations. This all covers R32, R33, and R34 GT-R.
The R34 GT-R recommendations ranged from a 5-30 if the ambient temps were below 60F, and a 10W-30, or 10W-40 at hotter temperatures.
