Cars are funny, people are funny.  There are always those customers that want the "fully loaded", top model car, and nothing else will do for them.  Often they don't even understand what that top model means.  Just because it was the most expensive, or had the longest name, that may not actually be the car you want.   We still see this fairly often associated with the Nissan Skyline GT-R.

"I want a Nissan Skyline GT-R Vspec, Nismo, N1, Nur edition."

Sorry that doesn't exist.  I don't care if some cretin on YouTube said they owned one.  They don't. Its probably just a normal GT-R.  This information here is to arm you with some information about the Vspec version of the Nissan Skyline GT-R, R32

The various models of Skyline GT-R exist for various reasons. The Nismo was a homologation special for Group A.  The N1 was used in endurance racing, or N1 Racing as it was called. Later N1 racing became Super Taikyu racing.  The Vspec or "victory specification" cars were to celebrate their racing successes.

There was a total of 1396 Vspecs produced from January 1993  to October 1994.  The Vspec II was available from February 1994 to  October 1994, and 1306 were made.  Yes, the Vspec and Vspec II were both sold together in 1994.

The main differences in the Vspec compared to the normal GT-R, were - 17 inch BBS wheels, Brembo brakes (the same as used later in the R33, and R34), some slight suspension changes, an ATTESA all wheel drive revision.  The difference between the Vspec and Vspec II were going from a 225 mm wide tire all around, to a 245 mm wide tire all around.  Yes, that is the difference. That and the sticker.

There are no horsepower differences. No turbo differences. We even see some sources where it mentions that the Vspec and Vspec II have aluminum hood and fender like the Nismo. Incorrect, all the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R have aluminum hood and fenders.

Vspec II brochure

Vspec and Vspec II R32 GT-R are fairly rare in the US.  Mostly because the US market is ignorant of the car. In Japan, and other countries where the car is known, it is a coveted version, and it brings a premium over the normal models. Since it brings more money, most US based buyers aren't looking at that car. They may know that a Vspec exists, but they really don't know what it means, and what it means for the cost of the car.  A Vspec or Vspec II is a car you buy, leave stock, and appreciate it for what it was, when it was made in 1993 or 1994.  You can, but you generally don't try and make 1000 hp, and beat it like a redheaded stepchild.  Since a lot of buyers are going to change all the parts that make the Vspec, a Vspec, or Vspec II, the market is limited. There may be a point where the market becomes sophisticated enough to appreciate them, but until then, these will be rare here. Let's not even get into the N1 versions of the normal, Vspec, or Vspec II car yet.  Another day.

More information, although some of this is incorrect. The Vspec or Vspec II R32 GT-R, did not get an active limited slip differential (A-LSD), like the R33 or R34. The Vspec and Vspec II have a standard rear differential. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Bad information, used over and over, from a bad source, is still bad information.
