Midnight Purple II R34 Skyline GT-R : How much does it weigh
We decided to weigh the Midnight Purple II R34 Skyline GT-R this last weekend. The car is getting ready to go out to the customer. It was imported under the NHTSA Show or Display exemption. The Show or Display exemption, allows you to legally import vehicles that are less than 25 years old, to the US. However each vehicle type must be approved, and each individual car must be specifically approved by the NHTSA. Not every vehicle is eligible for Show or Display. Many cars have been determined ineligible for the exemption. If the Show or Display approved vehicle is under 21 years old, it also must be brought into EPA compliance. In some cars cases, this compliance could be more than the cost of the vehcile. Make sure you talk to an expert about Show or Display, that actually resides in the US, prior to purchasing, and attempting to import a car. Toprank Importers are one of the most knowledgable importers for JDM Show or Display vehicles. We have gotten vehicle types approved, imported many vehicles under the Show or Display exemption, and assisted many others with their Show or Display applications and approvals.
Show or Display cars, that are eligible, and meet EPA compliance, and be driven up to 2500 miles a year. Show or Display is not registration or title. Title and registration are handled by each state, the Federal government is not involved with title or registration. If there are any questions on titling a Show or Display car, you should ask your local department of motor vehicles.
While the Nissan Skyline GT-R is not a hand crafted sports car, it does have some cool features for a production car. The Vspec verision has a carbon fiber rear diffuser, which is something you normally only see on high end sports cars.
