400R R33 GT-R for sale at auction

The Nismo 400R, was a complete car offered by Nismo based on the R33 GT-R platform. When they say complete car, they mean one that has been modified from stock, and in the case of the 400R, the modifications were fairly extensive.  There were a very limited number of 400R's produced. The number most often used is 44 cars, but GT-R Registry says 40 cars.  The base price when new as 12,000,000 yen or about $110,000 USD in 1996.

The RB-X did not come with a Nismo collector. That came much later. This car also has a oil/water laminova on it. 

The 400R featured the RB-X engine, 2.8 liters, up from the standard 2.6 liters, and 400 ps vs the stock "280 ps" rating.  A twin plate clutch, carbon fiber driveshaft, and Bilsten shock absorbers are but a few of the modifications under the 400R. 

Even though the 400R were sold 1997 to 1998, the first known production 400R chassis #02 was manufactuered in March 1996.  The last known car #040 was manufactuered in October 1998.

Buying one of these 400R in 2020 or 2021 is very difficult. With such a limited number of cars, you have to be willing to pay what someone wants for a vehicle, and accept that some vehicles are just not for sale.  Once the 400R starts turning 25 years old in 2021, it is likely that we will see at least one or two in the US.
